Concept & Design

The work began with inner search and dialogue—brainstorming, listening, rummaging through thoughts and images, examining ideas for their worth and possibility. From that initial chaos, a concept slowly emerged.
The composition is framed by ellipses reminiscent of galaxies and Stonehenge, creating a sense of order emerging from complexity. |

Construction
After extensive paper and cardboard templating, the work moves into clay. Wide extruded strips of stoneware clay form the core structures.

Texture is applied with porcelain at the leather-hard stage—a time-sensitive process where timing is everything: too wet and the texture runs; too dry and it flakes away. The surface texture references overgrown tree roots and neurons in the brain—both systems responsible for carrying information throughout living systems, coordinating the essential functions of life through electrical and chemical signals. |

Firing & Installation
The work remains unglazed, pure porcelain white, fired to 1280 degrees in oxidation. Each piece is filled with aerated concrete and reinforced with carefully positioned metal rods, creating a structure that appears to grow organically from the ground rather than sit on a plinth.
This approach reflects the artist's intention: to make the sculptures feel alive, emerging, in motion—a visual metaphor for the dynamic inner landscape they represent.
